Daniel Francis, Ph.D., Co-Founder & CTO
Prior to joining Group4 in 2004, Dan spent ten years co-founding two VC-backed companies that were acquired in the photonics industries. He is an expert in photonics, and materials science. He earned an undergraduate degree in physics from Oberlin, a doctorate in applied physics (photonics) from Stanford, and a post-doctoral appointment at Berkeley. |

Dubravko Babić, Ph.D., VP, RF Electronics
Prior to joining Group4 in 2004, Dubravko spent twenty years in the electronics, photonics, materials science, and packaging industries working for renowned organizations, and building small companies. He is an expert in electronics, photonics, and materials. He earned degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Zagreb, and a master's and doctorate in electrical engineering from UC Santa Barbara. |

Firooz Faili, Ph.D., VP, Technology
Prior to joining Group4 in 2005, Firooz spent twenty years helping to build various small and large companies in the semiconductor industry. He is an expert in materials science, electronics, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment. He earned degrees in chemical engineering from the Abadan Institute of Technology and San Jose State University, and a doctorate degree in chemical engineering from USC. |

Joseph A. Smart, Ph.D., VP & GM, New York
Prior to joining Group4 in 2011, Joe spent over twenty years in the semiconductor industry working in the silicon, GaAs, and GaN material systems. He is an expert in electronic and photonic epitaxial growth, device fabrication, packaging, and design. His experience includes developing small start-up companies, to assisting large companies in establishing new and emerging devices and technologies. He earned a doctorate in electrical engineering from Cornell University. |

Ellen Gabrielli, Controller
Prior to joining Group4 in 2009, Ellen spent fourteen years at several high tech start-up companies as acting Controller/CFO and eleven years as the Controller for a software company. She earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Psychology from Brown University and an MBA from Boston University. She also has her CPA license in Massachusetts. |
