Group4 Labs is wholly owned by its founders and employees. The privately held partnership has no institutional investors.

The company is self-funded by its sales activities, corporate R&D partnerships, and generous support from various departments of the U.S. government including the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Eye Institute, the Department of Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the U.S. Air Force Research Labs (AFRL), and the Missile Defense Agency.
