Succinctly put, GaN-on-Diamond electronics offers dramatic energy efficiencies in markets where energy costs are exceptionally high. In many of our target markets, the high energy costs also include the large volume of space occupied by the power supply or battery, or the heaviness of a very large power supply needed for an inefficient system. As the world transitions to a heavily wireless and digital network of gear, the need to cost-effectively produce, store, and transform energy has heightened.
Imagine getting a GPS signal – indoors. Imagine a mobile phone battery that lasts for days. Imagine your smart phone that is as thin as paper. Imagine a world without electrical wires save for the odd power cord. Someday, all of this would be made possible because of energy efficiency technologies like GaN-on-Diamond.
In selecting initial applications to pursue for GaN-on-Diamond, we sought markets that met the following criteria:
a) Markets that tap into growing and global energy-conservation trends that are likely to be sustained over the next 10-20 yrs,
b) Markets where GaN-on-Diamond can play a profoundly “game-changing” role, and
c) Markets where Group4 Labs is practicably capable of meeting volume and timing needs.
